Great Lakes Appraisal Institute Chapter Hosts Short-Term Rental Class

Published by Jason Ferris on

On Monday, 14, 2024, the Michigan chapter hosted the STR class. We had a great turnout and a great setting. The Hagerty Center at Northwestern Michigan College has a Coast Guard school and a Culinary school, so we had a student-made catered lunch and cherry crisp for an afternoon snack (with actual real whipped cream), my favorite. That will be added to my future teaching contracts, obviously.

The bottle of wine was well received, of course. It almost made it home.

It was great meeting my fellow appraisers in Traverse City, Michigan, and learning about how cherries and apples are grown in the region and some of the challenges they face with short-term rental properties and their valuation.
