Once you complete your order, our staff will email you within one business day and schedule the appointment with our appraiser.
For standard measuring, our appraiser will need access to the interior and exterior of your home. We will measure the main level, upper levels and basement spaces. Although we measure gross living area primarily with exterior measurements, because of second floors, garages and basements, we will need access to the interior of your home in order to complete the service.
For optional interior wall measurements, we will complete our standard measure in order to determine the gross living area of the home plus we’ll also locate the interior walls and interior room measurements on the sketch provided. This is useful when you are ordering flooring, wall paint, cabinets or lighting. Many people simply forward the sketch to their designer or print it out to take to the home store.
All sketches will be emailed as a PDF and JPG file. All files are retained on our secured servers and backup up in the cloud indefinitely.
All measurements are done to ANSI Z765-2003 standards, the standard for residential home measuring in the United States. This is the standard used by all Realtors and appraisers.
For photographs, we will photograph each room using standard Android or Apple phones. There is no special filtering or touch-ups to the photos, they are the same photos we will take during appraisals. Most people use these photographs for reference. We will send these in a PDF file. If you would like the original photos, you can let our staff know and we will email them to you.
